I made this flower as an entry for the FB group Passionate About Crochet theme “India Independence Day.” The bright colour of saffron gives a very nice touch to the pure white I am using and the green softens the shades, giving a pleasant looking piece of crochet art. One complete stem takes about 60 – 90 minutes to make. There are two options to finish the flower; ruffle and thin edging and both patterns are included.

Stitches Used
Sl st = slip stitch
Sc = single crochet
Hdc = half double crochet
Dc = double crochet
Standing sc = standing single crochet
Yo = yarn over
Reverse Sc: Reverse single crochet

Primrose Blue Crochet Applique

You just don’t know how idea comes to you. A friend forwarded this beautiful blue flower for inspiration. We didn’t even know its name at that time, but now we knew.
After several attempts and several frogging here they are two versions of them. There is another version too which is smaller and can be made into a granny square motive (picture later). The applique you see here both are 9 inch in diameter after blocking. The yarns I used were size 3 (light worsted) cotton mix for yellow and blue, and ICE yarn wool and acrylic blend for the white edging. I am planning to experiment with cotton threads soon and crochet it tightly. And if I am lucky to get some wire in the local shop today I might be able to make a pot of Primrose Blue crochet plant to decorate my plain house. See you soon.
